Unity on domicile issue is the need of Hour:Vakil
Srinagar: Senior Vice President of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference and Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today appealed all political parties to get united to devise strategy against the prevailing onslaught in J&K which is fast changing the demography of the region.
In a statement issued here, Vakil lambasted at the top political leaders, those who held top positions in the power corridors of erstwhile state for failing to raise voice against the onslaught and loot that is prevalent.
“The mainstream top political leaders have collectively failed to safe guard the interests of Jammu and Kashmir. With the result our identity, resources, jobs, welfare all is at stake. Resources are taken over by non locals. What is left for the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” Vakil added.
“What made the top political leaders who enjoyed power and ruled erstwhile State for decades together to behave like sitting ducks.
Surprisingly these leaders are silent on the issue and people want to know what is behind the screen. Vakil asked.
Vakil Suggested that the time has come that the leaders of all political parties must meet Prime Minister and Home Minister of India in order to apprise them about genuine aspirations and sentiments of the people Jammu and Kashmir, and to make them clear that the way dis-empowerment of people of Jammu and Kashmir is happening is political onslaught and it should be stopped immediately.
Govt of India must review domocile rules otherwise it will help in distancing people from the mainstream which is not at all in the interest of Nation. Vakil added
