Tarders accuse Nitco Transport for ‘loot and ill-treatment’

Srinagar, July 17: The traders of Kashmir valley are agitated over the alleged looting and ill-treatment of the employees of Nitco Transport located in Fruit Mandi Parampura in Srinagar.

A delegation of traders from the Valley reached the office of Kashmir Press Service (KSP) and accused Nitco Transport of charging double fares and lamented that their treatment is harsh towards traders.

The delegation said that on the one hand, they are charged double fares on goods imported from outside the state during the lockdown and despite this; the employees working in the Nitco Transport treated the traders badly.

The traders warned that if the officials’ right from manager upto labourers of Nitco Transport is not immediately removed then all the the booking of goods through the said transport will be stopped.

“If the transport employees are not replaced within three days, then booking of goods will be closed,” said traders.

The delegation also appealed the entire business community to object to booking the goods from the said transport for the time being if the employees of Nitco Transport were not taken out of the transport within three days.

The delegation further said that the traders who were charged double rates during the lockdown should immediately file a case against the Nitco Transport in the Consumer Court.
