Srinagar, July 22: Much relief to the locals of Zakora area of Srinagar city, police arrested 11 gamblers and recovered stake money up to the tune of over Rs one lakh form them.
A police official told news agency KNT that they were receiving complaints that gamblers coming from different parts of Srinagar city have turned Zakora area a gambling den. The locals were demanding strict action against these gamblers.
After receiving inputs, a police party raided a spot and arrested 11 gamblers from Pathan Colony Zakoora. “We recovered Rs one lakh 18 thousand from them on spot,” the official said adding that an FIR vide number 68/2020 under section 13 Gambling Act was registered against these gamblers. (KNT)
