Militants shot at a BJP worker; Workers continue to relinquish party
Srinagar, Aug 9: A fresh attempt on the life of a BJP worker here in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district has created fear psychosis among party cadre. Shortly after the fresh attack, four BJP workers from Budgam resigned from the party.
Pertinently, suspected militants fired upon a BJP worker Abdul Hamid Najar son of Late Muhammad Jammal Najar resident of Ompora Budgam this morning near Ompora Railway.
The said worker is battling for life in the hospital. A medico told news agency KNT that Hamid Najar has sustained bullet injuries in his leg and abdomen.
Party leaders including Sofi Yousuf and Altaf Thakur visited SMHS Hospital to see the injured worker.
After this attack, at least four BJP workers took to social media and announced resignation from the party. These include Constituency President Wali Bhat, General Secretary Budgam Avtar Krishan, District Office Secretary Sameer Shah and District General Secretary Imarn Parray.
Another BJP worker, identified as Shahzad Ahmed Bhat from Chowgam Devsar resigned from the basic membership of the party.
