DC Kupwara chairs DLRCC meeting;Stresses for conducting mass awareness programmes in rural areas
Kupwara, August 27: District Level Review cum Consultative Committee (DLRCC) meeting was held here today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Anshul Garg. The meeting, aimed at to review the Action Credit Plan ending June 2021, was attended by bankers and officers of line departments.
The meeting was informed that the achievements under Annual Action Plan 2019-20 for district Kupwara stood at Rs.1261.58 crore as on March last which constitutes 108% against a target of Rs.1166.95 crore. The achievements under priority sector advances were to the tune of Rs.821.08 crore. While as under non priority sectors, the achievements are to the tune of Rs.440.50 crore.
The meeting also informed that the Deposits of banks in district Kupwara remain to the tune of Rs.2696 crore as on ending March 2020 compared to Rs.2391 crore as on March 2019, while as advances of the banks stood at Rs.2512 crore as on ending March 2020 against Rs.2154 crore as on March 2019.
Reviewing the achievements registered by the banks during the current financial year upto June 2020, the meeting was informed that the achievement under priority and non-priority sectors were to the tune of Rs.173.28 crore, which include Rs.105.16 crore under priority sector and Rs.68.12 crore under non priority sector.
It was also informed in the meeting that there is a target of providing financial assistance of Rs.1382.26 crore among 99132 beneficiaries under different sectors including Agriculture, Micro, and Small & Medium Enterprises, Renewable Energy, Education, Housing & Personal Loans of which 2570 beneficiaries have been provided financial assistance of Rs.50.71 crore. Of this target, 10396 beneficiaries have been covered with financial assistance of Rs.173.29 crore.
Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner stressed upon both line departments as well as bankers to speed up the timely disposal of loan cases and avoid pendency in the offices. He directed them to ensure mutual coordination for greater achievements of the targets so that the beneficiaries could be timely benefitted. The Deputy Commissioner made special mention of KCC loan and directed concerned to achieve the 100% targets.
Referring to the COVID-19 containment measures, the Deputy Commissioner asked bankers to avoid the gatherings in and around the bank premises for safety of the general public.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed sponsoring agencies and line departments to continue the process of conducting awareness programmes by using innovative methods in rural areas to make the rural population aware of various developmental programmes devised by the government for income and employment generation.
