Traffic violators challaned in Handwara

Handwara: Iriked by the regular complaints from general public, a strict drive against the traffic violators was launched in North Kashmir’s Handwara township during which a hefty amount of fine was collected from violators.
Officials from traffic department told our correspondent that comliants on regular bases against the protocol violations were recievd from parts of Handwara and people alleged that the drives have set fair charges on their own will and fleecing the commoners without paying heed to set protocols and guidelines amid the pandemic.
During the checking, teams recovered huge amount of fine from the violators for defying the covid protocols issued in view of the ongoing pandemic from tiem to time to keep the deadly vrius away, the official said
He said that the teams were led by Sub Inspector, Mohammad Shafi who also requested the general public to follow the guidelines issued by medical authorises and government in veiw of the pandemic and directed the drivers to follow the covid protocol in letter and spirit or else be ready or stern action for any sort of breach that would leave anyone in worrying situation.
Mohammad shafi sought the cooperation of general public and transporters in making the adherence of covid protocols a relaity to defeat the deadly virus.
