Administrative Officers holding charges of additional departments leading to poor disposal of office work; says EJCC Chairman

Srinagar: More than 50 per cent of the IAS cadre officers in Jammu and Kashmir UT are holding “in-charge” / additional charges /positions of more than one department due to one or the other reason which is affecting the overall functioning of the Departments and public grievnaces are not redressed in a time manner which is a matter of grave concern alleges Aijaz Khan who is the Chairman of Employees Joint Consultative Committee Kahsmir.
These IAS officials are looking after 2-3 Departments in addition to their own duties which badly affects the normal functioning of Departments and also leads to loss of Government exchequer as the said Officers afe being paid extra per cent of their basic pay per department .

Mr Khan said that on one hand our Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor is leaving no stone unturned to bring transparency and promote good governance but on other hand oficers are being given charges of many departments in addition to their own duties is nothing but a limiting factor for the smooth implementation of the programmes like Good Governance as all the departments are important and need full-fledged officers not just one Officer looking after 3-4 Departments. As these Officers are not able to reach out to all office’s thereby are adding to problems faced by general public in disposal of their case files in Administrative Department which are biting dust since decades and were expected to disposed off under the present Administrative control of Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Jammu and Kashmir.
Mr Aijaz Khan urged Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor to intervene and reach out to this issue in larger public interests, so that general public may not suffer any further.
