Mentally unsound boy drowns in Kangan power canal, rescue ops launched
Ganderbal, Oct 11 : A 15-year-old mentally unsound boy drowned in power canal in Hariganiwan area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Sunday afternoon even as the rescue operation was launched to trace him.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the mentally unsound boy fell into the canal of powerhouse Sumbalballa near Fraw escape.
He said soon after the incident, a rescue operation was launched by locals, SDRF and police.
The officer identified the boy as Javaid Ahmad Paswal son of Shabir Ahmad Paswal, a resident of Haknar Gund.
