Srinagar, Oct 24: Supporting flag remarks of Mehbooba Mufti, senior vice president Awami National Conference Muzafar Shah Saturday said that Mehbooba Mufti didn’t utter anything wrong and she said what truth is. Shah said that before the abrogation of Article 370 unconstitutionally, State flag was present in every institution and department and was hoisted during government ceremonies.
“Jammu Kashmir had its own constitution and even Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir was taking oath under that constitution,” he said.
While talking to KNT, Shah deplored the provocative overtures of BJP towards the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “Using Kashmir and Article 370 during Bihar election rallies simply makes it clear that this party has nothing to show except Kashmir. The Kashmir related statements of BJP leaders are fraught with endangering the peaceful situation,” he said adding that Article 370 matter is subjudice and BJP can’t claim that it can’t be restored.
“Those misusing religion and nationalism for vote politics can’t be sincere to either,” he said.
“I appeal to the Supreme Court of India to take suo motto cognizance of the remarks made by BJP about this Article. How can BJP say Article 370 can’t be restored when the matter is still in the court,” Shah questioned.
He said people of Jammu and Ladakh are most vulnerable as more non-locals will try to purchase land in these two regions. “I want to ask people of Jammu and Ladakh why they are silent when Yogi Adityanath is asking people to buy land in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
Shah said that BJP will lose Bihar in a big way as people are not going to buy the baseless claims of BJP on Kashmir there. (KNT)
