Stray dogs on prowl in Budgam village, minor among 03 injured
Budgam, Oct 26, KDC: In addition to COVID-19 pandemic threat, fresh Panic has gripped Aarath village of central Kashmir’s Budgam district, as stray dogs did strike in the area, biting three persons on Monday.
Among the bitten, a minor boy is reported to be critical.
Locals told news agency KDC, that a flock of stray dogs appeared in village Aarath of Budgam on Monday, unleashing a reign of terror among the masses and injuring at least three persons there. However all the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals.
A health official told KDC that two victims of dog bite were provided with necessary treatment and were given Anti-Rabies Vaccines (ARBs) and were managed locally, with sufficient treatment; however one minor was critical, who was falling under ‘third degree’ category of injuries, was referred to Srinagar for specialized treatment.
He identified the injured as Zeeshan Hamid Dar (10), Aijaz Ahmad Rather and Mohd Sultan Sheikh, all residents of Arath village in Budgam.
Meanwhile, People have complained that these stray dogs are roaming freely in different parts of the district and have made lives miserable.
They complained that these stray dogs are being transported from different municipal areas nocturnally and freed into the villages endangering lives of common masses of the area.
Despite repeated requests to District administration, their plight has fallen on deaf ears, they added. (KDC)
