Handwara Police observed Rashtriya Ekta Diwas function at DPL Handwara

Handwara: Handwara Police today observed National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) across the PD. The main function was held at DPL Handwara where Superintendent of Police Handwara Dr.G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy-IPS took the salute of the parade and administered oath to the police officers and Jawans. Different contingents of Executive/Armed Police and CAPF took part in a colourful march past.

Speaking on the occasion, the Superintendent of Police Handwara said that this function across the country is being held to pay tributes to the Iron Man of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel the first Home Minister of the country who played a pivotal role in our freedom struggle and the integration of India. To commemorate the huge contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is celebrated wherein we take the pledge for internal security, integrity and sovereignty of the country.

On the occassion, SP Handwara also appreciated the role of Police, CAPF, Health workers, sanitation workers and others who played warrior role during Covid19 pandemic .

At the end of the event SP Handwara interacted with the NOKs of Police Martyrs, expressed his sympathy with them and assured them every possible help whenever required..
