Blood Donation Camp Held in Handwara; Dozens of youth Donate blood to save lives

Handwara:-A blood donation camp was organized by District Hospital Handwara in collaboration with Indian Redcross Society Kupwaraand forty youth from the area voluntarily donated their blood during the camp. During the camp Incharge and Inspector of the Indian Red Cross society in Kupwara Imtiyaz donated a unit of blood for the Fifty fourth time and during the current year it was his third chance to donate the blood.
In addition to Imtiyaz Ahmad, Several other prominent people donated their blood during the camp which include vice president of the local traders body Ab. Rashid Malik,Farooq Ahmad Bhat of Royal studio and Altaf Computer.
The camp was inaugurated by Indian Red Cross society General Secretary & Retired IAS officer Mr. Kifayat Hussain Rizvi.He was accompanied by Regional Secretary Red Cross Mohammad Yousf Zargar and Medical superintendent District Hospital HandwaraNisar Ahmad wani as well.
On this occasion the chief guest while laying emphasis on the donation of blood said that donated blood not only saves hundreds of lives but also brings joy and happiness for the person who donates blood. He said that the blood donated by the young men during the camp will also save many poor lives as blood donation is a step to prepare for what lies ahead in one’s life.
He said that blood donation is important not only for saving a patient’s life but it also proves beneficial for the donar as well.He said that blood donation camps should be organized in every nook and corner of the UT so that when in need patients get the readily available blood from the Hospital blood banks .
