Srinagar, Nov 25:Former Union minister and senior Congress leader Prof Saifuddin Soz on Wednesday said wise man of Congress party Ahmed Patel will be remembered and mourned by wide variety of people as a politician and human being.
“I express my deepest shock at the demise of – Ahmed Patel, who was popularly addressed by all as Ahmed Bhai!”, Prof Soz said in a statement here this afternoon.
He said known for his wisdom and sobriety, Ahmed Patel will be missed by a wide variety of people, all around.
Prof Soz said it is a great loss to the Congress Party, the Patel family had proved unswerving loyalty to the Gandhi Parivar.
Remembering Ahmed Patel, Prof Soz said he had the stamina to listen to all manner of people for long hours and he was known widely for his mental aplomb and patience.
The other quality of Ahmed Bhai was that he was accessible to a broad section of society, cutting across parties and sections of society, Prof Soz said.
“I offer my deepest condolences to the Patel family and the Parivar of Sonia Gandhi” , he said adding Ahmed Patel will be remembered long for his human qualities. May God bless his soul and give fortitude to the family and friends for this great loss and bereavement.”
