Duo rescued after Tata-mobile vehicle slips into River Jehlum in North Kashmir

Bandipora, Jan 16: A Tata-Mobile vehicle slipped into the River Jehlum near Preng area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district when the driver lost control over it on Saturday afternoon.

Police sources told KNT that the driver lost control over the vehicle (JK15A-5193) due to slippery conditions and it plunged into the River Jehlum. Two persons including the driver were rescued by police with the help of locals and shifted to hospital.

One of the victims identified as Showkat Ahmed Guroo son of Abdul Rahim, a resident of Shadipora was referred to Srinagar Hospital for advanced treatment while another victim, Ghulam Nabi Guroo, also a resident of Shadipora is being treated at Community Health Centre, Hajin. His condition is stated to be stable.

The vehicle was on way to Hajin from Shadipora when the incident occurred. (KNT)
