DDC election for Chairperson: Independent candidates emerge victorious in Poonch

Poonch, Feb 13 : The independent candidates were on Saturday elected as District Development Council (DDC) Chairperson and Vice Chairperson in Poonch district.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), official sources said Tazeem Akhter, an independent candidate from Sathra constituency was elected as Chairman. Akhter has defeated Congress candidate in Poonch.

They said Ashfaq Ahmed from Mendhar C, an independent candidate managed to secure the post of Vice Chairperson.

The elections were held at DC Office complex—(KNO)
