Civil Secretariat employees write to LG, seek work on ‘as is where is basis’ ahead of ‘Darbar Move’

Srinagar, Apr 10, KDC: In view of rise in Covid-19 positive cases across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the employees at Civil Secretariat have sought work schedule on “as is where is basis”.

According to News Agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC), in their representation to Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha at least hundred employees working in Civil Secretariat have raised concerns over the rising Covid-19 positive cases and the scheduled “Darbar Move” which is also on cards.

“It is to mention that most Jammu based employees are provided with accommodation in different locations across Srinagar on Sharing basis viz; two employees in each room, if any of the employees becomes infected, then the situation becomes very grim” reads the representation, a copy of which lies with News Agency KDC.

These employees have emphasized and requested authorities to issue directions for allowing these employees to work from their offices at Srinagar as well as from Jammu on “as is where is basis”, so that the employees may be able to perform their duties smoothly and look after their families as well in the times of pandemic.

The representation mentions, “As the authorities are aware that all the record of the Civil Secretariat has been digitized and official work has been started through “e-office” which evidently reveals that the employees can work in the respective offices of the Secretariat at Srinagar and Jammu which will not affect official work in anyway.
