Intensive Hailstorm wreaks havoc in North Kashmir villages, causing huge losses to Apple Orchards: Kakaji

Srinagar : President KFGDA Fruit Mandi Sopore Mr Fayaz Ahmad Malik alias Kakaji in a communique to VoR said that the recent hailstorm has caused disaster to the Apple Orchards and other Crops resulting in huge losses to the Growers. The Apple Growers are already sailing in a sinking boat from past few years due to continuous Lockdowns and natural calamities. The Apple industry and people associated with it already being at the verge of its extinction have been left in disdain and stress due to the recent Hailstorm. Kakaji further requested the Lieutenant Governor Mr Manoj Sinha to consider a compensation for the Apple Growers for the losses and requested the Administration to waive off the KCC Loans up to 3 Lacs, so that Farmers and Growers can take a sigh of relief.
