Diversion of Five Oxygen plants to Jammu: Delivery upto supplier, say ME Dept
‘Have requirement of 37 oxygen plants, received 20, more coming by first week of June’
Srinagar, May 17 (KNO): After the reports of five oxygen units being diverted to Jammu instead of Kashmir, a top official from the Mechanical Engineering Department Monday said, it was upto to the supplier to decide where to send the supplies as per the terms and conditions with the concerned department.
He said that there is a requirement of 37 oxygen plants of which 20 have been received while remaining are expected to arrive by first week of June.
A top Health official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer-(KNO) that, the valley has adequate availability of oxygen in all the hospitals.
An official from the Mechanical Engineering Department revealed that both the Jammu division and Kashmir divisions have the same supplier. “Jammu may have been pushing for more oxygen plants and that’s were the region got five recently,” the officials said, wishing anyonimity.
Earlier, in the day there were reports in the media that five oxygen plants meant for Kashmir division have been diverted to Jammu division, and according to the report the Chief Engineer Mechanical division had admitted that some of the plants were shifted to Jammu.
Chief Engineer, Mechanical Engineering Department in a national daily had admitted that they have shifted a few plants of 1000LPM capacity to Jammu.
Meanwhile, Doctors Association Kashmir president and influenza expert Nisar ul Haasan said that Jammu and Kashmir regions are part of the one UT, but “diverting ” the infrastructure of one place for another was unacceptable—(KNO)
