Illicit timber seized in Budgam village

Srinagar, May 19: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday seized an illicit timber in a vehicle in Magam area of central Kashmir Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Police sources told News Agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) on specific information about movement of timber smugglers, a naka checking was established and an illicit timber of 21 feet was seized along with a vehicle (Tata Mobile) bearing registration number JK02AD-6855 in Magam area of the district.

They said that the driver of the vehicle has fled from the spot and a case has been registered in Police Station Magam under FIR no 89 of 2021 under section 379 IPC and 33 Forest Act.

The driver of the vehicle will be arrested soon and further investigations have been set into motion, they added. (KDC)
