3 Gamblers Apprehended in Budgam’s Khag

Budgam, May 28: Jammu and Kashmir Police Friday said to have arrested three persons alleged of being involved in gambling in Khag area in central-Kashmir’s Budgam district.

An official told GNS that upon receipt of specific information of gambling activity in village Hardu Suresh Khag, a team was constituted which raided the venue. During the raid , as per the official, three persons identified as Abdul Sattar Sheikh, Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh and Mohammad Yasin Sofi residents of Peth Sharen Khag were found playing cards with a stake money of rupees fifty-five hundred. “The packet of playing cards besides the stake money was was recovered and all the thre apprehended from the spot”, the official said.

A case vide FIR number 38/2021 under relevant sections has been registered in this regard and further investigations taken up, the official added. (GNS)
