Srinagar, June 30: Police on Wednesday said to have arrested a drug peddler in Kunzar area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
In a statement to GNS, the police said that Baramulla Police under the supervision of Hilal Khaliq-JKPS, SDPO Tangmarg assisted by SI Ather Parvaiz, SHO PS Kunzer arrested 01 drug peddler namely Tariq Ahmad Ganie son of Gh Qadir Ganie resident of Ganie Mohalla Nengerpora Kunzer, District Baramulla at his home and recovered 14 Kgs of Poppy Straw like substance from his possession. The drug peddler was selling drugs among the youth of the area. In this regard, case under sections of NDPS has been registered in concerned Police Station Kunzer and investigation taken up.
It is pertinent to mention here that the said drug peddler was selling drugs among the youth of the area, they said.
General People of Sub Division Tangmarg hails the efforts of Baramulla Police and showed their willingness to support police to eradicate menace of Drugs from the society which is the real sign of Police Public relationship, reads the statement.(GNS)
