After Srinagar, no-confidence motion moved against DDC chairperson Budgam

Budgam, Jul 17 : Ten members of district development council Budgam have submitted a no- confidence motion against its chairperson Nazir Ahmad Khan who had won the election due to cross-voting by members of the Peoples’ Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD).

Talking to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), vice-chairperson of DDC Budgam Nazir Ahmad Jahra said they have submitted a no-confidence motion against the chairperson.

He alleged that no development work has taken place in the district after Khan became chairperson of the council.

The notice is signed by eight members of National Conference and one member each from Peoples Democratic Party and Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Movement.

“It is humbly requested that the undersigned being the vice-chairman of the district development council Budgam is moving this notice of intention for moving no confidence motion against the chairman of district development council, Budgam for the reasons that on 05-07-2021 the majority of the members of district development Council, Budgam have unanimously passed a resolution for moving no confidence motion against the chairman,” read the notice, a copy of which is lying with Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

The members have urged DC Budgam convene a special meeting of members of the Council for voting on no- confidence motion—(KNO)
