Minor Boy Injured in Stray Dog Attack in Srinagar’s Saida Kadal
Inhabitants worried, say third such incident in less than a month; Official intervention urged
Srinagar, Jul 24 : An 8-year-old boy received multiple injuries after being attacked by a pack of stray dogs in Saida Kadal locality in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Friday evening.
Locals from Mir Behri, Dal Lake, Saidakadal told GNS that that a child on way back from a seminary was attacked by a pack of stray dogs. In the incident, they said, the child received multiple injuries including in his face and groin. The injured boy was immediately evacuated to SMHS Hospital and was administered with treatment there, they said.
The local inhabitants have in the meantime expressed concern over the rapid growth in canine population in the area, saying that the particular incident was third of its type in less than a month’s time.
We have approached the authorities including SMC and LAWDA to take preventive measures to safeguard the human and livestock on multiple occasions, however nothing is being done on the ground, they alleged.
We urge the top-officials to intervene into the matter at an earliest to avert any untoward incident in future in the area, they further said. (GNS)
