Introduction

What is suicide ?
Suicide is the act of intentionally ending his or her life. suicide is generally carried out under the influence of different factors it may be due to despair and causes may also be attributed to mental disorder ,personality disorder,depression,drugs,family disputes , troubles with inter personal relationships , bullying ,financial troubles.

Increase in no of suicide cases in Kashmir :

Since past one year there has unprecedented increase in no of deaths due to suicide in kashmir , Reasons and causes may be same that have been mentioned above in introduction but there has been aggravating stimulus to these factors that may be due to different factors that have occurred during past few years may be it economic crisis due clamp down since past three years, or due to surge in unemployment or youth get involved in drugs or due to covid 19lock down due to which people have come under humongous stress and has added to surge in family interpersonal relationships. All these factors have created deplorable environment for suicides in Kashmir.

Way forward and Conclusion: Better late than never ,before it becomes uncontrollable menace ,people should talk about it and come forward and specifically parental role is pivotal may be it guidance or making cordial environment in their family so that children’s don’t hesitate in sharing suffering or be it Islamic scholars or intellectuals ,social activists ,all must come forward so that this menace gets stopped.
