Extortion Case: Shahid Imran, Aide’s Remand Extended By 4 Days
Srinagar, Sep 4: A court has extended by four days the remand of Imran Ahmad Ganai, aka Shahid Imran) and his associate who are running social media page –Kashmir Crown—in connection with an exhortation, officials said on Saturday.
Imran was arrest on August 27, a day after his associate Ashiq Mir was arrested in connection with the case—(FIR no.145) under IPC sections of 384 (extortion) and 506 (criminal intimidation) which was registered in police station Dangiwachi against the duo.
Shahid and Ashiq were produced before the court for seeking their more remand. The court extended their remand by four days.
Previously, while extending the police remand of the duo, a court observed that offence attributed against the accused persons were “non-bailable and heinous.”
Soon after the arrests, SSP Sopore Sudhanshu Verma (IPS) had assured that “law will take own course. People shall need not to worry and the case will be concluded on merits.” (GNS)
