Plus Two Teachers Association holds virtual meet

Srinagar : A meeting of the Central Executive Committee of the Association was held on Tuesday through virtual mode and presided by Mansoor Ahmad Khan.

Majority of the District Presidents and Central Executive Members attended the meeting. The meeting was convened in the backdrop of World Teachers Day celebration organized by worthy Director School Education Kashmir on October 5, 2021 in the auditorium of S.P Higher Secondary School Srinagar. The participants expressed their sincere gratitude to Worthy Principal Secretary SED, Shri. B.K Singh and Worthy Director SEK Shri Tassaduk Hussain for honouring and acknowledging the contribution of teachers as nation builders. It was second occasion after National Teacher’s Day celebration on September 5, 2021 at SKICC Srinagar wherein the higher ups in the department honoured the teachers who have been rendering their exemplary and remarkable services in delivering Teleclasses and other assignments during Covid 19 pandemic. The community feels delighted to have such a teacher-friendly leadership in the department viz. Principal Secretary SED, worthy DSEK and DSEJ and its was resolved that +2 lecturers would shoulder every responsibility for the betterment of students and society in addition to the primary duty of teaching.
The members also thanked worthy DSEK for taking cognizance of +2 lecturers serving for years in hard zones and hoped that they will be brought back by the end of this year. The worthy DESK was also requested to personally look into the issue duty slip of +2 lecturers recruited in 2017.
Worthy PS was requested to redress the long pending demands of the +2 lecturers viz. ACP, placement of left out lecturers as Sr. Lecturers against available slots, restoration of 40% quota in HE, repatriation of lecturers serving in Ladakh, disposal of modified cases in ATD 2020-21 and higher startup for Ph. D/NET/SET lecturers.
