DGP J&K sanctions meritorious scholarship in favour of 242 police wards

Srinagar, 25 October: Encouraging and appreciating the hard work of the wards of Police personnel who have excelled in class 12th annual examination during the academic session 2020-2021, the Director General of Police, J&K Shri Dilbag Singh has sanctioned meritorious scholarships of over rupees 16.11 lakh in favour of 242 wards of serving police personnel.

Vide order number 33247 of 2021 issued by PHQ the DGP has sanctioned rupees 7000/- each in favour of 133 students who have secured more than 90% marks while rupees 6000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 109 students who have secured 80% and above marks in the Annual Examination of class 12th during the academic session of 2020-21.The amount has been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund.

During the current year till date over rupees 1.44 crore have been sanctioned in favour of 2362 wards of Police personnel who have achieved above 80% marks in the annual examination of class 10th, 12th and graduation for the academic of session 2020-21.

Police Headquarters has been sanctioning scholarships, rewards, for wards of martyred and serving/retired Police personnel under different schemes to boost their morale.
