With the emergence of new threatening variant of corona virus, Omicron , Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum raises attention calling alarm

Srinagar: With the emergence of new threatening variant of corona virus, Omicron to keep pace as a health conscious society, Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum raised an attention calling alarm here on Monday. In a statement issued here Chairman, JKCSF Abdul Qayoom Wani said Jammu and Kashmir has successfully come out of the COVID crissis despite all odds and its credit by and large goes to the health consciousness of the people of this region.
However, notwithstanding any kind of missing or loophole in the ongoing struggle against Corona disease JKCSF raises a calling attention with the emergence of its new dangerous variant spread across many European countries. Chairman JKCSF upheld the status that dedication, professionalism and efficiency of the medical fraternity of Jand K who proved real warriors in fighting against the COVID pandemic for past two years and even sacrificed their lives in many cases were a pride of this society.
” We hope all stakeholders govt, medicos, paramedics, volunteers and welfare organizations will continue working with same pace and dedication to meet any future challenges of this continuing battle to safeguard humanity.” Said Wani
JKCSF vehemently appeals the govt and all other stakeholders to get ready in advance to meet the challenges of new variant. Omicron, if (God Forbid) it makes an entry here could be worrisome because the coming season is critical with regard to ailments generally too.
All hospitals need to be equipped with sufficient bedding and the machinary and the oxygen gas which experts may deem necessary thereof.
Moreover, SOPs for COVID already in vogue must be ensured for implementation and practice, all kinds of gatherings need to be restricted, schools, coaching centres, and exam centres need to be revisited for SOP protocols after consultation with health experts.

” Life has a value and every step needs to be taken with precautions keeping the past experience, advisory of experts and world scenario in view” reads the statement.
