Calls upon student community to get vaccinated

Appeals Teachers and parents to make prograame successful,Vaccination of school going children imperative for classification; Rafique Rather

Srinagar :JK Teachers Forum has welcomed Government initiative of vaccination to school going children.In a press statement, President EJAC and Chairman J&K Teachers forum M.Rafique Rther has lauded Govt for ordering 15 to 18 age group vaccination programme .He said that the COVID-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc on children’s education around the globe and vaccinating 15 to 18 is a critical step towards putting it back on track.
He said the Governments plan to vaccinate children will help to protect them from the virus, allow them to get normal education, and ultimately keep schools open.
He said that it is imperative for students to get vaccinated which will provide a shield from possible third wave impact. “”Even if third wave arrives, if student and teachers are vaccinated, the antibodies will act as a shield and we will be able to continue imparting education .Therefore students should get themselves vaccinated against Covid19 without delay to gain the only available form of protection against the pandemic.” He added
Ensuring all children to get vaccinated Rather, urged it’s rank and file to offer their ethical obligation by providing support and cooperation to the health agencies in this critical Phase of vaccination which will definitely minimize the disruption in education.He sought civil society participation in making this programme a success.
Adding to it, Rather advised District Presidents of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum to constitute District Tehsil & Zonal committees to work in close coordination with health workers in order to achieve hundred percent vaccination before opening of schools after vacations.
He also appealed Teachers and bodies of private schools to get actively involved in the process by rendering their best possible services.
