Haridwar Assembly Hate Speech: Soz hails the role of retired Army, Navy, Air Force officers

Srinagar, Jan 4: Congress leader Prof. Saifuddin Soz Tuesday hailed retired forces officers for raising their concern over the call for establishing Hindu Rashtra.

Soz lauded the role of Navy and Air force Commanders including the Former Service Chiefs, who have raised their strong voice against the calls for establishing a Hindu Rashtra and asking Hindus for picking up arms and killing of Indian Muslims in the name of protecting Hindutva.

“These top Commanders have called upon the Parliament, the Supreme Court and the Government to act with urgency to protect the integrity and security of our country.”

“These Military, Navy and Air-force Commanders have strongly deplored such polarization in the name of religion,” Soz said.

Soz said these leaders have strongly urged the President and the Prime Minister to take immediate steps to curb such culprits and condemn such incitement to violence in no uncertain terms.

Certain Hindu Leaders calling themselves Sadhus had made extremely provocative and unlawful speeches at the Dharm Sansad at Haridwar between 17-19 December, 2021.

“These top Military, Air Force, and Navy Commanders have also urged the Judiciary to take action against such people who have so openly repeated the calls for establishing a Hindu Rashtra and asking Hindus to pick up arms against Muslims in the name of protecting Hinduism.”

“A heartening aspect of this development is that the entire Military, Air-force and Navy leadership in India have rejected in one voice, the ‘Hindutva plank’ of the so-called Dharm Sansad and appealed the Supreme Court, the Parliament and the Govt. of India to intervene effectively and protect secular identity of India,” Soz said.
