Meet Mohammad Aatif Khan a rising star, who brought laurel to kashmir valley.
Budgam: Mohammad Aatif Khan,A young talented Sqay Martial Art player & Social Activist from Sheikhpora, District Budgam. Aatif Ayoub has completed Diploma in Civil Engineering from KIET College Srinagar and is Currently Pursing B.E in Civil Engineering from MIET College Jammu, had represented Kashmir once on international level, 4 times on national level, state level and district level respectively.
While speaking to Atif Ayoub, he Said, that he started playing martial arts from his school days when he was 10years old . He has done his Schooling from Spring Buds Higher Secondary Ompora budgam.
He had played his first nationals under the name of 60th national school games 2014-2015 sqay martial arts which was held in Delhi. In 2015-2016 played 61st and in 2016-2017 played 63rd national school games sqay martial arts which was also held in Delhi and played 62nd national school games sqay martial arts which was held in Mapusa, Goa. He had been bronze medalist at national level. He also participated in 20th NATIONAL SQAY CHAMPIONSHIP – 2019.20 which was held in Panchavati, Nashik, Maharashtra Where he won Gold Medal.
Apart from this he has represented India at international level. He has participated in 5th Asian Sqay Championship which was held in 2017 at Bangkok, Thailand and won silver medal. He was awarded by Advisor of Governor Vijay Kumar and In presence of Dr. Sehrish Asgar. He is not just a martial art player but also a social activist working on the elimination of drugs. He is the member of J&K United Federation where platform is being provided to the youth(sportsperson) in different games field by organising events related to many games like football tournament,spring run and cycling which is to be conducted soon.
The only motive to choose this field is that the youth who are indulged in wrong doings should get involved with sports and should stay away from things which could ruine their life. For this Atif Ayoub also works for J&K United Youth Movement . I had seen many of my brothers from my locality indulged in drugs after working very hard through different initiatives I had seen many positive changes in our area which boost me to do more and more for the betterment of our society said Aatif Ayoub.
We have much talent here in kashmir but due to the lack of infrastructure the youth of kashmir is unable to represent themselves at any platform.
Atif Ayoub has been awarded by DC Budgam on Republic Day. He is a civil Engineering student and wants to crack UPSC exams. His main motive is to do something for the betterment and welfare of society.
