NUCLEAR RADIATIONS THREAT TO INDIAN STUDENTS IN UKRAINE
Srinager:Dr Mehwish Ajaz advises Indian students returning from Ukraine should undergo radiations exposure tests to avoid adverse effects of suspected nuclear radiations exposures on teeth.
Dr Mehwish is a oral health expert who has been concerned for young Indians returning from war torned Europe.
Ukrainian fifteen nuclear power stations have been subjected to attacks and proliferation of nuclear radiations can’t be ruled out. IAEA also voiced its concern over information black out on safety aspects of Ukrainian nuclear reactors.
Over and even short dose of harmful exposure to nuclear radiations can cause immediate to long term and temporary to permanent harms to teeth and gums. The negative effects of these invisible killer radiations must be checked for better oral health of our students who have been evacuated back to India.
Dr Mehwish A also requested IDA to take a note of it and release an advisory through Govt of India Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
