PSAJK holds regional meet in Baramulla

PSAJK, in collaboration with Thinksite (TSPL), organised a regional meet at Baramulla Public School on 23 June.

The meeting was attended by the major Schools in the region. The participants deliberated on various issues confronted by the Private schools currently.

The role of the Association in the changed circumstances was also the part of deliberations. The interactive session on the future challenges was conducted by Dr Farooq Wasil, Director Thinksite, and it generated a meaningful discussion.

The meet was addressed by G N Var, President Private Schools’ Association, wherein he deliberated upon the efforts carried out by the Association to solve the problems faced by the Private schools. G N Var also spoke about the re-energising of the Association.

In that context he shard the information that the current committee stands dissolved, and an ad hoc committee would take over to hold new elections after Eid ul Adha.

Former Secretary Education, and currently Chairman M.E.T shared his thoughts on how the schools can improve on many counts by engaging professionals and doing thinking to improve internal processes.

Those who attended the meet, among others, were Anayatullah Hajni, (Vice President PSAJK,) Prof Irshad Ahemd (Secy Baramulla Public School), GM Lone (Chairman BOMIS), Er Faisal (Distt President Baramulla), Ab Majid, (District Coordinator Srinagar), Mohammedd Sayed, (District President Anantnag), and many other school representatives of the area.

The meeting emphasized upon the issues of fee fixation, and why private schools should be allowed to decide on the fee according to the infrastructure and other factors, like all other private schools running in the rest of the country. It was also emphasised that the Government should ease the regulations pertaining to the obtainment of NOCs.

Meeting also stressed upon better wages for more than 1lakh teaching and non teaching staff associated with private schools.

To improve the standards of teaching PSAJK asked for the services of Thinksite to formulate teacher training programs for the teachers of the private schools.
