Commissioner STD, Administrative Secy Mining Dept inaugurate fortnight Celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mohatsav

Commissioner State Taxes J&K, Dr. Rashmi Singh (IAS) today inaugurated the fortnight Celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on the theme “Meri Mati Mera Desh” as part of 76th Independence Day celebrations at Excise and Taxation Complex, Solina Srinagar.

The event was attended by Additional Commissioner State Taxes Kashmir, Shakeel Maqbool Yatoo (ICAS), DC Enforcement (Central), Parvaiz Ahmad Raina (JKAS), DC Apeeals I & II, DC Recovery, Assistant Commissioners, State Taxes Officers and other staff members of the department.

The fortnight programme aims to commemorate the 76th Independence day and foster a spirit of unity and patriotism among the citizens.

During the inaugural ceremony, CST highlighted the significance of Independence Day, and encouraged officials to actively participate in the various cultural, social, and educational activities planned for the celebrations on day to day basis. These activities include Swachhta Abhiyan, Restoration Drive at Doodhganga, cleanliness drive at Nilnag, GST awareness drive, skit on the theme ‘Impact of haphazard mining & Brick Kilns on people’s lives and loss of tax revenue as a result’, selfie with Tiranga, plantation drive (Vriksharopan Abhiyan), Seminar on the issue of Sustainable Development and, photo exhibition on the theme ‘Growing Sustainably, Taxing Responsibly- Kartavya, and and other related events.

The 15-day long celebrations are set to culminate on Independence Day, August 15th, with the hoisting of the National Flag at E&T Complex, Solina followed by screening of documentary highlighting the initiatives of the department throughout the year.

Pertinent to mention here, the State Taxes Department is organizing these activities in cooperation with Mining Department. Dr. Rashmi Singh (IAS) is also holding the charge of Administrative Secretary Mining Department, J&K.

CST also released a compendium of initiatives undertaken by the department as part of GST week celebrations.
