Commissioner State Taxes Visits Bandipora, Reviews Functioning Of Taxes & Mining Deptt
Commissioner State Taxes Jammu and Kashmir, Dr. Rashmi Singh Monday visited district Bandipora to assess the overall functioning of the State Taxes and Mining Department and interaction with the stakeholders.
During her visit, She was accompanied by Additional Commisioner Administration and Enforcement, Shakeel Maqbool. Mehraj Wani State Tax officer Bandipora on the occasion informed the chair regarding functioning of the department across the district. He briefed that Sales Taxes unit in district Bandipora regularly visits business units and creates awareness regarding GST and other necessary procedures.
Among others the meeting was attended by Nodal Officer Coordination Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, ADC Bandipora Umar Shafi, State Taxes Officer, circle Bandipora Mehraj Wani besides a large gathering of other stakeholders including trade union, contractors association, druggist and chemists assosiation besides other officers from the district administration.
The Commissioner on the occasion interacted with the participants to recieve first hand appraisal into the functioning of the department in the district and address any challenges faced by the people.
Dr Rashmi undertook a detailed review of the administrative setup of the State Taxes and Mining Department in Bandipora. On the occasion Dr. Singh interacted with the the officials and officers of different departments working in Bandipora Administration.
On the occasion, the commissioner interacted with stakeholders from the business community, mining operators, and other relevant sectors. She held a series of meetings with representatives from these sectors to gather valuable feedback, address concerns and explore opportunities for collaboration to streamline tax collection and mining operations in the region.
During the meeting, Dr. Singh said that the government is committed to transparent and efficient taxation processes thereby ensuring sustainable mining practices that align with environmental regulations.
Additional Commissioner Administration and Enforcement shakeel Maqbool on the occasion spoke about the importance of technology in modernizing tax collection and mining procedures, assuring that the State Taxes and Mining Department would continue to leverage digital solutions to enhance efficiency.
Earlier, Dr Rashmi flagged off an awareness rally from the premises of Mini Secretariat Bandipora comprising students of different schools. The rally passed through the different markets of Bandipora to create awareness regarding taxation and its procedures. A painting competition was also held on the occasion during which students were felicitated with certificates and momentos.
