Legal action initiated over killing of 3 civilians in Poonch: J&K Govt
Government on Saturday claimed that legal action into the killing of 3 civilians in Poonch district has been initiated and that compensation and compassionate appointments to the families of deceased has also been announced.
In a post on X, Information and Public Relations Office J&K, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) informed that medico-legal formalities were conducted and legal action in the matter has been initiated by the appropriate authority.
It also said that government has announced compensation for each of the deceased and jobs to next of the kin have also been announced.
“The death of three civilians was reported yesterday in Baffliaz of Poonch District. The medico legal formalities were conducted and legal action in this matter has been initiated by the appropriate authority. Government has announced compensation for each of the deceased. Further Government has also announced compassionate appointments to the next of kin of each deceased,” it said.
Meanwhile, National Conference leaders today led a protest at party headquarters in Srinagar against the deaths of three civilians in Poonch, reportedly picked up by security forces after a deadly militant attack on Thursday.
PDP President & Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti also demands probe in Poonch civilian killings, and also demanded compensation to families of slain and injured.
