SKUAST-K Launches Collaborative ESDP with 10BN SSB at KVK Srinagar

As a part of its on going outreach programs in convergence with different stakeholders from diverse disciplines to embark on a journey towards accomplishment of common Goal & Mission to empower the” nxt Gen” youth through Skill Entrepreneurship Development programs.

By way of imparting ‘Hands on training’ it aims at to provide Hand Holding as a step towards Employment Generation & Livelihood security with ultimate aim to develop successful commercial Entrepreneurs. KVK Srinagar under the aegis of Directorate of Extension, SKUAST -Kashmir Launched 08 Days ESDP on “Mushroom Farming as an Agri-business w.e.f 13th Feb.2024 for the unemployed youth & School dropouts.
The training is being organised in Collaboration with Unit HQ,10BN,SSB Srinagar, Agriculture Production Department-Kashmir and Division of Plant Pathology ,FoH.

The inaugural session was hosted by CO 10BN/SSB Sh. Rohit Ashwa ji and was graced by chief guest Prof. Dil .M. Makhdoomi , Director Extension,SKUAST-K and Jt.Director cum Coordinator Mushroom, Ms Tabassum Nazz as Guest of Honour.The programme was attended by the participating trainees, Scientists of Kendra (Dr. Rayees A Wani, Dr. Saima Paul, Dr. Aasima Rafiq), officers of 10 BN SSB, Dr Shabir u Rehman IMDC and Dr. Tariq from division of Plant Pathology FoH. In addition, officers from Financial institutions viz Lead Bank SBI, AXIS Bank and Joint Director Skill development UT of J and K who assured the audience and trainees of all possible financial support to venture into the commercial businesses.

Head KVK, Professor Shamim A Simnani presented overview of the program schedule while Chief guest Prof. Makhdoomi gave an insight of Extension network of the University in dissemination of technological interventions to realize higher revenue generation through innovative supply chain and post harvest management practices. Further Director Extension SKUAST-K appreciated the sincere efforts of the team of Kendra scientists in organizing fourth such Skill oriented series of training programmes in a short span of two months. Dr Aasima Rafiq Scientist anchored the event and Dy. Commandant Shree Om Prakash Mishra presented vote of thanks at the culmination of programme.
