Plus two lecturers delegation advocates for Career Progression in Cadre
A delegation of Plus Two Lecturers Association led by President Mansoor Ahmad Khan visited the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar this afternoon, engaging in comprehensive discussions with Principal Secretary of Finance, Santosh D. Vaidya, IAS, regarding the stagnation and limited promotion opportunities in the +2 cadre.
During the meeting, the delegation provided an in-depth overview of the cadre structure and highlighted the urgent need for a policy to address the lack of functional and non-functional promotions.
The Principal Secretary assured the delegation that the government is seriously considering the issue and committed to making every effort to resolve it. The delegation expressed their gratitude for the patient hearing and extended their thanks to the current LG-led administration for addressing genuine issues on merit.
The delegation also visited the Department of Law, where they met with Secretary Law Sh. Achal Sethi and Deputy Secretary Law. The discussions focused on the various aspects of stagnation within the +2 cadre and the need for career progression. The delegation requested the officers' support in addressing this critical issue.
Later, the delegation met with officers from the School Education Department, including Additional Secretary Sh. G. N. Bhat and Deputy Secretary Sh. Masood Ahmad Wani.
They discussed various human resource management issues and requested timely redressal and disposal of these matters.
The delegation included Jan Mohammad, Dr. Mir Nazim, Bhat, Khursheedul Hassan, Khursheed Ahmad Rather, and Khursheedul Alam.
