Irfan Mattoo demands removal of Idgah Park entry fee

J&K Peoples Conference Provincial Secretary Irfan Mattoo today raised serious concerns about the poor condition of Idgah Park.

In a statement issued here, Matto said that despite the park's dilapidated state and lack of basic facilities, locals are charged Rs 24 per entry, placing a heavy burden on the community.

Mattoo emphasized that many residents, including children and the elderly, depend on the park for their daily walks and health needs.

"Charging Rs 24 per entry is too much for individuals, especially those who need to visit daily for their well-being," he stated.

Mattoo has called on the authorities to intervene, urging them to provide free entry for local residents who use the park for health and recreational purposes. "The government must take immediate steps to relieve this financial strain by ensuring free access to the park," Mattoo demanded.

In addition to advocating for free entry, Mattoo highlighted the need for improved park facilities. "The park lacks essential amenities and requires significant upgrades. The government should enhance the park's facilities and maintain an adequate parking area to create a better environment for visitors," he added.
