State Taxes Department Kashmir Conducts Searches at Multiple Locations
Enforcement Teams from Kashmir's State Taxes Department Conduct Searches at Hotels for Tax Evasion
Enforcement teams from the State Taxes Department of Kashmir today conducted search and inspection operations at various hotels suspected of tax evasion and fraud across the Kashmir division.
According to a statement issued to Kashmir Age, the State Taxes Department of Kashmir has conducted searches and inspections in popular tourist destinations, including Srinagar, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam, as part of its ongoing effort to combat tax evasion and fraud.
During these operations, officials seized a range of physical and electronic records from the businesses, which are currently under scrutiny to determine the extent of tax evasion in these cases.
The enforcement actions were prompted by a technical analysis of hotels that reported a decline in sales despite a significant increase in tourist activity this season.
The State Taxes Department has urged taxpayers to accurately report their sales and remit the appropriate Goods and Services Tax (GST) in their monthly or quarterly returns to avoid enforcement actions and potential penalties.
