13-year-old boy drowns to death in Ganderbal
A 13-year-old boy died after he drowned in a canal in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district on Monday afternoon, officials said.
An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that drowned in the canal while taking a bath in Mongam village of Kangan.
He said that soon after the incident, a rescue operation was launched and retrieved the boy from the bab canal. "He was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival," he said.
The boy has been identified as Aqib Ahmad Lone (13) son of Ghulam Qadir Lone of Chattergul, Kangan—(KNO)
