Director Sericulture J&K Urges for Swift Enrollment on DAKSH Kissan Portal

he meeting focused on the enrollment of Silkworm Rearers and Farmers on the DAKSH Kissan portal, a critical step in enhancing productivity and sustainability within the region's sericulture sector.

During the session, Bhat highlighted the essential need for skill up-gradation among the Silkworm rearing community. He emphasized that improving cocoon production and the overall viability of the sericulture sector is imperative for the agricultural development of Jammu and Kashmir.

Bhat called for the prompt registration of all eligible beneficiaries on the DAKSH Kissan portal.

He explained that this initiative would allow farmers to access various departmental schemes and support services, ultimately benefiting the sector as a whole.

To aid in the enrollment process, an on-the-spot demonstration of the DAKSH Kissan portal was conducted. This hands-on session aimed to familiarize participants with the portal’s features and functionalities.

Bhat stressed the importance of creating widespread awareness among departmental officers and instructed the Nodal Officer to produce a comprehensive video recording of the demonstration. This resource will be used to ensure that all departmental staff are well-informed and can effectively guide farmers through the enrollment process, thereby expediting case processing.

In his concluding remarks, Bhat reaffirmed the department's dedication to empowering sericulture farmers through modern tools and technologies. He underscored the need for their active involvement in the evolving agricultural landscape to ensure the sector's growth and sustainability.

The meeting saw the participation of several key figures, including the Additional Director Sericulture Development Department Jammu/Kashmir, Project Executive Officers from Srinagar, Kashmir, and Jammu, all District Sericulture Officers of J&K, and Managers Seeds of J&K. Field Officers, along with Accounts Officers, Deputy Director (Planning), and the Technical Section of the Directorate, were also present. They all pledged their full support in meeting the targets set forth by the Director.

The emphasis on timely enrollment and skill enhancement marks a significant step towards revitalizing the sericulture industry in the region, promising a more prosperous future for its stakeholders.
