Mohammad Altaf Dar, General Secretary (Org) and Publicity Chief of the Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF), has expressed strong condemnation of the recent decision to impose mandatory close days for businesses in Srinagar.
Dar criticized the measure as detrimental to the local business community, which is still struggling to recover from the economic impact of the 2014 floods, the 2016 unrest, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
He argued that these additional restrictions only deepen the financial difficulties faced by traders and manufacturers who are already working hard to overcome the setbacks from these past crises. Dar urged the authorities to reconsider the decision and adopt measures that would better support the recovery and sustainability of Srinagar's business sector.
