Advisor to the Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF), has been elected as the Senior Vice President unopposed in the recently concluded elections for the year 2024.
This election underscores the confidence and trust reposed by the trade community in Mr. Bhat’s leadership and his continued commitment to the interests of traders across the valley.
However, KTMF condemns the statement call issued by Mohammad Yaseen Khan, which was announced without any consultation with market presidents or key stakeholders. Mr. Khan, in his current capacity, is not authorized to issue such unilateral statements that impact the entire trading fraternity. The premature statement has caused confusion and disruption among traders, which we strongly oppose.
It is imperative that in the coming days, all stakeholders, including market presidents and representatives, will be taken into confidence before any such decisions are made. The interests of the business community are of utmost importance, and we are committed to ensuring that future actions are aligned with their collective will.
The KTMF remains committed to addressing issues affecting traders through proper channels and discussions, and we call upon all concerned to act responsibly and avoid unilateral decisions that could further harm the fragile economy.
