JKCSF Urges Govt to Revive and Ensure Equitable Use of JK House in Delhi

The Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum (JKCSF) urgs  upon the government, particularly the Hon’ble Chief Minister, to ensure the judicious partition and use of JK House, Delhi.

In a statement Abdul Qayoom Wani Chairman Forum said, this historically significant establishment has long served as a vital resource for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly for patients seeking medical treatment in Dehi۔

Wani said it is disheartening to note that a significant portion of JK House has been allocated to Ladakh, and the remaining facilities have been outsourced, eroding its cultural and functional value.70% posts at JK House are vacant which directly affect the patients and other dwellers who stay there for seeking treatment and other services.JKCSF emphasizes the urgent need to restore its former glory by preserving and promoting the unique cultural heritage, including Kashmiri cuisine and arts, which were once a hallmark of JK House.

We urge the government to ensure a fair distribution of accommodation and services between Ladakh and JK based on population, keeping in mind the original purpose of JK House. It should primarily cater to the needs of patients and their attendants, while also serving as a hub for showcasing the rich traditions of Jammu and Kashmir.JKCSF is confident that under the proactive leadership of the Chief Minister Omer Abdullah sahib these concerns will be addressed to the satisfaction of the public.
