Farooq Shah Attends Arnis Washu Championship, TASK Meeting in Srinagar

The prestigious Arnis Washu Championship, held at the Sports Stadium Polo Ground Srinagar, witnessed talented athletes from 13 states across India competing with exceptional skill and dedication.

The event, organized by the Arnis Washu Federation under the guidelines of the Wushu Association of India, was graced by MLA Gulmarg, Farooq Ahmad Shah, as the Chief Guest.

In his address, Shah applauded the Federation for promoting Wushu and inspiring the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to embrace sports. He emphasized the transformative power of sports in fostering fitness, morale, and unity, urging young people to pursue it as both a passion and profession.

Shah also presented awards to the winning athletes, encouraging them to bring further laurels to the state and nation. He further stated that sports has the power to steer young people away from negative influences and harmful activities.

Later, Shah attended a crucial meeting of the Travel Agents Society of Kashmir (TASK) at Boulevard Srinagar. The meeting, attended by TASK's executive members, focused on challenges and growth opportunities in the tourism sector. Shah's presence underscored the significance of collaborative efforts to enhance infrastructure, promote the region’s cultural heritage, and improve tourist experiences.

Shah reiterated his commitment to supporting initiatives that benefit both the youth and the tourism industry, recognizing their pivotal roles in Jammu and Kashmir's development.
