Fresh Western Disturbance Likely To Bring Snowfall to Higher Reaches in Kashmir

A fresh Western Disturbance has begun to affect Jammu and Kashmir, bringing with it the possibility of snowfall, particularly in the higher reaches of Kashmir, Kashmir weather experts said.

Areas such as Ganderbal and Bandipora are expected to experience snowfall today.

The disturbance is expected to intensify tonight, and there is a chance of snowfall extending to some plains during the night or by early tomorrow morning. While there is a 40% chance of light snowfall in the plains, a 20% chance exists for a moderate spell in certain areas.

However, Jammu region is unlikely to experience any significant weather changes. Kargil district, on the other hand, is expected to receive a light to moderate snowfall over the next 36 hours.

The weather is expected to improve across Jammu and Kashmir from tomorrow afternoon, with dry conditions likely to persist for the next 10 days.
