An anti-child labour drive was conducted today at Regipora Bus Stand and the main Kupwara Bus Stand. The drive, organized under the direction of Dy SP Mr. Syed Mujtaba, saw active participation from the Juvenile Police and Child Line Kupwara.
During the operation, two children were rescued from child labour, and their employers were directed to appear before the Child Welfare Committee for further proceedings.
The drive also aimed to raise awareness among shopkeepers, particularly automobile owners, about the legal provisions concerning child labour. Shopkeepers were advised not to employ children under the age of 18, emphasizing that such practices harm the well-being and future of young children.
The authorities reiterated their commitment to combating child labour and ensuring the protection of children's rights in the district.
