Skill Dev Training Program Inaugurated at Srinagar by DSEK

As part of the ongoing Civic Action Program of the 79th Battalion CRPF, a new Skill Development Training initiative was launched at the Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar.

The program, aimed at providing skill enhancement opportunities for local youth, was inaugurated by Dr. Gulam Nabi Itoo, JKAS, Director of School Education Kashmir, on 14th January 2025.

The training, focused on "Plumber General" skills, is being conducted under the Skill Development and Employment (SRE) scheme. It will benefit 50 students from the Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Jawahar Nagar, who will receive practical training to enhance their employability in the plumbing sector.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by several key officials, including Shabina Kyser, Chief Education Officer, Huma Mir, Principal of the Government Boys Higher Secondary School, and Mudasir Bhat, Coordinator from M/s Momin Technology Pvt. Ltd., the agency responsible for conducting the training.

In his inaugural speech, Kishore Kumar, Commandant of the 79th Battalion CRPF, emphasized the importance of such programs in building the nation by honing the skills of the youth for a brighter future. He assured that the CRPF would continue to carry out similar initiatives under the Civic Action Program, in line with the directives of the Ministry of Home Affairs. "CRPF is fully committed to its social obligations, and we will keep supporting efforts aimed at empowering the youth of this region," he stated.

Dr. Gulam Nabi Itoo, in his address, thanked the CRPF for its support in initiating such valuable programs and underscored the importance of skill development in providing better opportunities for young people.

The inauguration ceremony also saw a strong show of support from local media and officials, with Kishore Kumar expressing his gratitude to all those involved in making the event a success.

This initiative is part of ongoing efforts by the CRPF to foster community development and create avenues for skill-based employment among the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
