MLA Gulmarg Farooq Shah Inaugurates Skill Dev Program, Upgraded OPD Block at Tangmarg

In a series of impactful initiatives aimed at empowering youth, improving healthcare, and promoting sports, MLA Gulmarg Farooq Ahmad Shah inaugurated a 90-day skill development program at Degree College Chandilora, unveiled the refurbished OPD Block at Tangmarg, and participated in the All India Inter-University Winter Games in Gulmarg.

Skill Development for Employment Opportunities

The "Hunar Se Rozgar Tak" skill development program, launched in collaboration with IHM Srinagar, is designed to equip young individuals with specialized skills in Food & Beverage (F&B) services. This initiative is expected to create new employment opportunities in the hospitality and tourism industry. Speaking at the launch, MLA Farooq Ahmad Shah highlighted the role of skill-based education in fostering self-reliance and economic growth.

Improved Healthcare Facilities in Tangmarg

Addressing a key healthcare concern, MLA Farooq Ahmad Shah inaugurated the upgraded OPD Block at Tangmarg, which now features five specialized clinics, including Surgical, Orthopedic, and General OPDs, along with three drug counters. The facility has been enhanced with sufficient seating arrangements and heating systems, significantly improving patient comfort. The initiative was widely appreciated by local residents, who welcomed the much-needed healthcare improvements.

Encouraging Sports and Tourism

Later in the day, MLA Farooq Ahmad Shah attended the All India Inter-University Winter Games in Gulmarg, alongside Sh. Satish Sharma, Hon’ble Minister for Youth Services & Sports, and other dignitaries. The event, which brought together talented athletes from across India, underscored Gulmarg’s status as a premier winter sports destination.

Reaffirming his commitment to youth empowerment, better healthcare, and tourism development, MLA Gulmarg Farooq Ahmad Shah emphasized that such initiatives will contribute to the overall progress and prosperity of the constituency.
